Sakumlandela Primary School

The project started in 2017 with a Schools Roadshow to showcase rope skipping and the Flairs Fitness and Freestyle program. In 2018 the school signed up to collaborate with The Ukuphumelela Trust and Jump It Rope Skipping Academy to create a sustainable rope skipping program in the school.

This will entail the teachers / volunteers from the school undertaking training to be up-skilled as a rope skipping coach in the Flairs programs, as well as undergoing entrepreneurial training to engage with their community and maintain the program. Members of Jump It Rope Skipping Academy mentor the school teachers in the schools, as well as conduct talent identification to highlight talented jumpers to enter their high performance group.

The aim of the project is to get all children in the whole school to engage and take part in Rope Skipping and lead a mentally and physically healthy life.
